Enormously exciting…
I tend to shy away from ‘out of the box’ synth instruments because of the consistency of sound they provide, instead opting for the far more labor-intensive process of making my own. Yet Orbit has immediately impressed me with the way it can vary the sound you’re working with, to create something that’s very likely proprietary to what you’re working on. That is enormously exciting because it’s also very easy to use. Consider me an instant fan.

Gorgeous and meaningful…
Orbit is one of those easily manipulative tools that fills a gap in the composer’s arsenal. The moods are gorgeous and meaningful to the storytelling of music in any medium. From very subtle shifts in timbre to a full on assault, I’m looking forward to digging in more.

Extremely useful…
The ambiences are beautifully rich, evolving in ways that are versatile and extremely useful to the modern film composer. Orbit’s full library includes strong sound sources and a nice interface with impressive presets that are extremely tweak able.

Unique, interesting, and a great resource
As I find myself doing more synth-based scores - which I really enjoy - I've expanded my sonic library to include more new and interesting sounds. ORBIT and ECLIPSE are fantastic tools for me. Their musical approach and interface is unique, interesting, and a great resource for someone who likes to experiment and mess with sound like I do.
My go-to
Within 10 minutes of playing around with Orbit I was using it in a film score. I really like software I can start using without looking at the manual, and then when I do Orbit reveals what's it really capable of. As someone who likes to us evolving textures Orbit has already found a place in my go-to plugins.

Used it right away
I like Orbit quite a bit, and unlike many of the Kontakt libraries I’ve bought over the years, the sounds are not ‘too much’ right out of the box. So many libraries are full of those patches that sound like a whole piece of music when you hit one key, but I’m looking for things that can integrate well with the other sounds I create, and Orbit fits that bill nicely. I used it right away on my latest project, a six-hour miniseries version of Childhood’s End on SyFy, and a couple of things made it to the final mix unchanged and unedited. It’s a nice addition to my collection and the price was right

ORBIT and ECLIPSE have 4 independent sequencers that modulate 24 useful parameters to further the creation of interesting, musical, and evolving sounds. Each sequencer has its own playback rate and extends up to 64 steps.

Here are a few cool things SKYPAD can do.
At Wide Blue Sound HQ, we've ditched the mouse and keyboard and use only SKYPAD to interact with ORBIT and ECLIPSE. If you already own ORBIT and ECLIPSE, the first three pages of SkyPad (Engine, Channels, FX) control be synth the same way you're used to, except with touch-control. The next four pages is where it gets interesting.
Patch Generator
The Generator builds new sounds for you based on the adjectives you ask for. It's the fastest way to make custom sounds, and your best starting point for sound design.
Multiball
Use the Multiball page to control anything in the entire instrument with physics. Place your fingers in the field and move the balls around, and record the result in your DAW!
Spatial Mixer
The Spatial Mixer is a multi-dimensional way of mixing your soundsources. Place each soundsource in space using your fingers or by waving your tablet around you. This tool uses a hand-crafted combination of panning, filters, reverb, and delay.
FX-XY
FX-XY's Macro Pads combine popular effect parameters together. Shape your sound quickly using simple gestures, creating dramatic sweeping motions between different distortions, spaces, and more.
